Spiced Challah French Toast

My idea of the perfect french toast is the most perfect soft and fluffy bread, an amazing batter that has lots of spices + flavors, and of course, tons of maple syrup. Vanilla, almond extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg all come together in this wonderful breakfast you can enjoy with friends or family any day of the week! I hope you guys enjoy this french toast as much as I did.
A little backstory on my love for french toast: My dad used to wake up every Sunday morning and make my family and I the most delicious french toast. It was his signature dish (actually, the only dish he made shh don’t tell him). The most crucial ingredient in this was the bread, a cinnamon twist bread he would get from the market. Then, he would let it dry out to make sure the bread soaked up the egg mixture. The cinnamon-y goodness and the memories I got from his dish inspired me to make my own version. I can only hope it lives up to my dad’s.
